The protagonists of the coburg “spider murphy story – in the oktopafest-tent at the schlossplatz they gave their numerous fans an acclaimed comeback. Without costumes, without a stage set, but with plenty of music by the spider murphy gang, numerous listeners experienced an unadulteratedly nostalgic evening.
Spectacular success
The story about the songs of the spider murphy gang, which was staged with spectacular success by theater director matthias straub at the start of the season before last, and which even became an export hit and made the best publicity for coburg and its landestheater in the munich residence theater a good year ago – this story became a musical quarry, a hit parade in the best sense of the word, on this evening. Marie-sophie weibinger (in the last weeks still as queen victoria in "albert& victoria" celebrated in the giant hall of the coburg honorary castle) and benjamin hubner, nils liebscher and niklaus scheibli as vocal soloists successfully heated up the mood in the well-attended marquee together with the funfkopfigen band around guitarist rudiger eisenhauer.
"Schickeria"
Shortly after the start the dance floor in front of the stage was very crowded. From "reibverschluss" to "rock’ n’ roll schuah", by "dolce vita rita" until "schickeria" the fans experienced an entertaining spider murphy party – more than just an appetizer for the "oktopafest" the next day at the same place. According to christian limpert of the original prince albert band (OPA), this first cooperation with the landestheater was not a one-off, but the start of further events of a similar kind: "i hope that we can manage this cooperation more often in the future"." Limpert’s suggestion: "why not take a chance on the rocky horror show"??
